Board-certified Miami Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Tachmes, has been in practice in Miami since 1994 and is a south Florida expert on Facelifts, Brazilian Butt Lifts, Mommy-Makeover surgery, and Breast Augmentations with implants and fat transfer. He also has a particular interest and treats many complex breast implant revision patients.
All surgery procedures are performed at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami or an outpatient surgery center on Miami Beach.

Dr. Leonard Tachmes was born in Havana, Cuba, and raised in Miami Beach. A graduate of Miami Beach Senior High School, he received his BS degree from Duke University and his MD degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery of the Breast and Reconstructive Microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan; a residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Chicago Hospital; a General Surgery residency at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and an internship in surgery at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, N.Y.Dr. Tachmes is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is the author/co-author of fourteen scientific research papers published in various journals of medicine and surgery. He has been serving Miami since 1994.
Dr. Tachmes began writing feature length screenplays in 2014. The first one, “Dean Bailesol’s Journey To Surgery,” is a coming-of-age, dark comedy-drama loosely based on Tachmes’ experiences at college, medical school, and surgical residency. The script has received several awards at multiple international film festival screenplay competitions. His second script entitled, “Under (Re)Construction,” was recently selected as a finalist for Best Unproduced Screenplay at the Nice International Film Festival in the south of France . His third script, “Dean’s Dream,” is the completion of the trilogy story. Dr Tachmes most recently, has completed three more screenplays: "Spanish Love Story," "Med School Movie" and "Brooklyn Med 87-91."
Dr. Tachmes has been an avid collector of contemporary and Latin American art for over thirty years. From 2001 to 2011, the Leonard Tachmes Gallery promoted and exhibited emerging, Miami-based contemporary artists in various mediums, including painting, photography, video, sculpture, and installation.
